Confused About Health Care Reform? This Could Help
As of the writing of this post, there are about 40 days left before the Health Exchanges open for business on October 1st. If you’re like most people and you’re probably confused about health care reform and what you must do to get some health insurance for your business come this October. Don’t worry you’re not alone.
In a recent survey by The Kaiser Family Foundation, 42% of American’s think Health Care Reform was repealed and is no longer law. So confusion prevails amongst many.
But the folks at HealthplansNY are here to help. We have created a Health Care Reform Checklist for small employers (2-50) and large employers (51+) to help clear up some of the confusion about what your responsibilities are to comply with the new law.
For instance, If you are a small employer, did you know you must provide a Summary of Benefits and Coverage form to your employees before October 1st? The fine for “willful non compliance” is $1,000 per employee.
