MetLife's 9th Annual Benefirts Study Released

The 9th Annual Study of Employee Benefits by MetlLife is comprised of over 1,500 interviews with decision makers from firms with 2 or more full-time employees. The study shows that employees have become more disloyal and dissatisfied with their employers. Here are some key findings:

    * More than 1 in 3 employees hope to be working somewhere else in the next 12 months
    * Employee satisfaction has reached a 3 year low
    * Employees with group benefit programs (health insurance, 401(k)) are more satisfied with their job
    * Employers focus more on cost than employee satisfaction
    * 58% of employers report that "financial stress" in the workplace contributes to more employee absences at their companies
    * 78% of employers say financial stress in the workplace is making employees less productive and distracted from performing their duties
    * 54% of employees are concerned about retirement and are looking to their employer for more education in the workplace
    * 54% of benefit decision makers expect to rely more on brokers because of health reform
